LCS Ordination Service 2011

 

November 2011 – To some, it may just be another month that passes them by. But to some, it may be THE MONTH of months for the year 2011.

For the tax industry in Singapore, November 2011 can be considered THE MONTH of months as the whole industry enters into top gear leading up to the statutory deadline of 30 November 2011. And I, being in this industry, can only testify to the fact that November is indeed THE MONTH of the year where staying up into the wee hours of the night or even early mornings (i.e. 5am) become the norm. Further, having supper as “early” as 2-3am just makes November 2011 such a “memorable” MONTH.

Of course, November 2011 may also be THE MONTH of months for hundreds of couples embarking on a new chapter in their lives as they commit their lives to each other in marriage. According to the Registry of Marriages, 574 couples tied the knot on 11 November 2011 while another 607 tied the knot on 20 November 2011. And why should we even be surprised? 11/11/11, more commonly known as the “triple-11”, and 20/11/2011, also known as the “double 2011”, are widely considered auspicious/memorable/significant/hot/you-name-it dates to celebrate new beginnings.
